Hickory International is a family owned and operated dealership. The company was started in 1979 by Al Thackston, who had 22 years of experience with International Harvester when he purchased this company owned store.  At that time, International Harvester at this store sold International Trucks, Farm Equipment, Industrial Equipment as well as Lawn & Garden all under the International Harvester umbrella.  As times changed, International Harvester sold off the farm equipment division to Case, the industrial equipment to Dresser and the lawn & garden to Cub Cadet. 
 
Hickory International, Inc. still sells Medium and Heavy Duty International Trucks today.  Not only do we sell trucks, we can service your vehicle here as well.  We have a 10 bay service center staffed with factory trained technicians on site for any truck or bus service needs you may have, including a variety of inspections. Al Thackston is still active in the business but turned the daily operations over to his son, Brent Thackston in 1995. Hickory International, Inc. is now in its second generation of operation and has been serving Harford, Cecil and Baltimore Counties for nearly three decades
