The DuoDial?Dual POS has several features that distinguish it from conventional POS devices.
Conventional points of sale (POS) devices generally supply Electronic Fund Transfers (EFT) services such as when a customer pays with a credit or debit card. The DuoDial?Dual POS does BOTH EFT
[Electronic Fund Transfer] as well as EVD [Electronic Voucher Distribution]
In addition new standards, aimed at reducing EFT fraud have been introduced. These standards, known as EMV [Euro MasterCard and Visa] have effectively made most deployed POS devices in RSA
redundant. The DuoDial?Dual POS supports these new standards.
Banking Services The DuoDial?Dual POS device enables the merchant to make Regular Banking Services available to retail clients. A total of 5 banking services are enabled by the DuoDial
POS.
- Cheque verification
- Credit/Debit/Buy aid cards
Prepaid Services In addition to Regular Banking Services, the DuoDial?Dual POS further enables the sale of Prepaid Services such as virtual airtime for Vodacom, MTN, Cell C, Telkom and
Globel.
Future products will include Prepaid Electricity, Branded Gift Vouchers and Ticketing for sport or entertainment events.
Therefore, unlike conventional POS devices, the DuoDial?Mono POS offers the merchant an opportunity to generate income.
Did you know? The DuoDial?Mono POS enables the sale of virtual airtime. On payment, the merchant selects the appropriate product from the POS menu and provides the customer with a printout
containing a confidential pin code. All the customer has to do is activate the airtime on his/her cellular phone by following a few simple steps. No stock, no risk!
Mobile The DuoDial?Mono POS device is GPRS-enabled which means that transaction data is sent via GPRS and the unit does not have to be linked to a PSTN (Telkom).
This allows the merchant full mobility as well as savings on call charges. In addition, the device can be used in communities that have been traditionally excluded from banking services due to the
lack of infrastructure.
Transaction Time The average transaction time of a conventional POS device ranges between 20 and 45 seconds.
The DuoDial?Mono POS boasts with a maximum transaction time of between 4 and 7 seconds, which means that the transaction is cleared in real time. Keeping in mind that many merchants dial up are
charged at national rates for their transactions, this is quite important.
Fixed Monthly RentalThe total cost of ownership with respect to POS devices are determined by three factors:
Commission?commission payable is regulated by the Banking Control Act. We cannot influence these charges.
Monthly rent ?rental payments are often inversely related to the amount of transactions put through the POS device.
Telephone calls ?for each transaction made, a phone call is made via Telkom to ASWITCH?in Central JHB.
This implies that merchants whose businesses fall outside of this area pay for national calls each time a transaction goes through (including the sale of pre-paid services).
The DuoDial Dual POS is unique in that it costs a fixed monthly rental, no extra transaction costs except for banking charges.
Price of Unit, Terms and Conditions The prospective DuoDial Dual POS merchant will need to sign a 36-month rental agreement that is automatically renewed after a period of 3 years, unless indicated
otherwise.
