Reclaim Rubber
Reclaim Rubber is a product manufactured out of waste/scrap tires and tubes. Ground and vulcanized scrap rubber tires & tubes are treated with heat in the presence of chemical agents.
Mechanical work is then done on it to recover its original plasticity. It is thereby made reusable for further compounding, processing and vulcanizing as per the requirements of the individual
rubber product. During reclamation process the chemical un-saturation remains unchanged.
Reclamation Process
Whole tires are cracked to suitable size. The fibers are mechanically removed from the cracked tires. The relatively fiber-free scrap is ground to finer mesh size and further mixed with
chemical agents in a reclaimator.
The temperature in the reclaimator is kept in the range of 204-260 C for the required time for de-vulcanization. Reclaimed material is then mixed and blended with small proportions of
reinforcing and processing agents.
Applications of Reclaim Rubber
Reclaim rubber is used in different proportions for manufacturing following types of rubber goods.
