Alok Industries has developed a new series of color masterbatches, ?Edge-glo?, thatcause the edges, corners, embosses and relief?s on a transparent part to glowbrighter than the flat surfaces?Edge-glo? color masterbatches are a new generation florescent masterbatches fortransparent polymers like GPPS, SAN, PC, PMMA and PET etc.  These masterbatchestake advantage of the high transparency of these polymers and   enhance the lighttransmission at the edges, corners and embossing. Due to the florescent nature of the colorants used, they absorb UV energy and reemitit in the visible region of the color spectrum. A combination of florescenceand refraction results in a brilliant transmission of light on the edges resultingin an edge glow effect.Typical Applications Include:?CD jewel cases?Writing Instruments?Partitions/Trays in Refrigerators?Novelty itemsThe ?Edge-glo? range includes various hues of orange, yellow, pink, green and blue.The most pronounced effect can be seen in yellow and orange colors.
