Overview

Due to its low cost and superior physical properties, ABS (Acrylonitrile-Butadine-Styrene) is one of the most commonly used thermoform plastics in the commercial vacuum forming industry. ABS produces detailed vacuum formed parts that are tougher and more rigid than other types of plastic. In addition, ABS is manufactured in both black and white with a aircell?texture on one side. This cosmetic feature helps the material resist and hide scratches/abrasion. (It can be formed with either side facing out.) These properties make ABS a popular choice for vacuum formed prototypes and production parts that need to stand up to heavy use, including: retail displays/signage, custom car parts, electronic enclosures, and molds for plaster or concrete.
