1960s Bill Blass Silk Princess Ball Gown There's much to be said about foregoing the traditional 'wedding gown' and wearing something that a) has already stood the test of time and will continue to do so, ie. vintage; and b) something that is going to make you really shine at your nuptials. We offer this amazing ball gown by Bill Blass which demonstrates Blass at his best - the kind of dress that makes a grand entrance. A spectacular shimmery vision of silk matelasse with silver metallic thread and splashed with huge 'watercolor painted' flowers in shades of magenta, pink, taupe, violet, marine blue, bronze and a touch of orange. The close fitting bodice has a u-shaped neckline that is not too plungy, in sharp contrast to the poufy sleeves and full skirt. Sleeves have an elasticized gathered cuff, which can be worn at the elbow or wrist. The gown closes with a back zip, and is full lined. Bust measures 37", waist 27", shoulder 16", sleeve 22", total length 54". Sized for no larger than a modern 6, it is in excellent condition with some minor discoloration of the lining, and a small spot on the shoulder where the metallic fabric has oxidized. $725
