Note: Honda, Chrysler, and Subaru enhanced use the AE Enhanced Interface. Those enhanced options will not work wirelessly.
This solution requires that you already own a PC ScanTool kit. You will not need to send your cable interface back as this is a complete replacement solution for the OBDII cable.
Our wireless solution is based on pure radios. This does not use 802.11 or BlueTooth stacks. This provides quicker throughput and no complex network configurations to resolve prior to a connection. Simply put, now you can connect to your vehicle without having to worry about settings or configurations. Once you install the USB device drivers and set the port in the ScanTool, you will never need to make any other changes nor worry about other networks interfering. What's more, without the networking stack associated with BlueTooth or 802.11, we can achieve throughputs compatible with vehicle manufacturers proprietary protocols.
This solution will solve the professional technicians wireless needs by offering a range of 500ft without obstructions and up to 100ft with obstructions. Now you can operate your scan tool remotely
from anywhere in the shop. Our solution uses no protocol stack to complicate the setup or interfere with the data throughput.
500ft PC Wireless (EH04)
Now you can be cable-free while still retaining enhanced support.
If you buy the Bluetooth solution when you buy your OBD-II connector, we will insert a power supply inside the OBDII connector to drive the Bluetooth transceiver. Without this power supply, you'll be required to externally power the Bluetooth transceiver. Our Bluetooth transceivers are also modified to specifically work in our communications environment so that you don't have to set anything up. The Bluetooth transceiver is a small module that then attaches to the end of our OBDII connector instead of the normal serial cable. By not building the Bluetooth module into our OBDII connector, you can still use the standard serial cable for those times that your computing device is not Bluetooth-enabled.
Please note that the Bluetooth solution is not fast enough for most enhanced bi-directional controls and may not work. Bluetooth is usually fast enough for enhanced trouble codes, live data, and full generic OBDII support. In the case of enhanced Honda, Chrysler, Subaru, GM CAN D, and Mitsubishi, the Bluetooth solution will not operate in any capacity as the throughput is completely inadequate.
Bluetooth has a range of up to 33ft and is easier to use than other wireless technologies. Because Bluetooth is a "cable replacement" technology, it doesn't require sophisticated network protocols
and complex handshaking. This means its installation and operation are much simpler than other wireless technologies.
With the popularity of the Bluetooth wireless technology appearing in PDAs, we decided to work with a leading Bluetooth vendor to provide this cable-less solution to our OBDII interfaces. Now you can have hands-free operation of the ScanTool for your Palm, Windows Pocket PC/Mobile computing device.
