How to get Started

A PC or laptop that is running Windows 95, 98, ME, NT4, 2000 or XP. A Pentium 100 (or AMD equivalent) that has 16MB of RAM is recommended. VAG-COM only needs 1MB or less, so availability of disk-space is not a problem.

What System Requirements do I Need?

If your VW or Audi has a 16pin OBD II style Data Link Connector then VAG-COM will work. If your car has the old 2x2 Data Link Connection check to see if there is a wire going to each pin - if there are 4 wires VAG-COM should work if there are only 3 it wont.

VAG-COM will work with most Volkswagen and Audi models sold worldwide from 1994 onwards. It will also work with most late-model SEAT and Skodas sold outside of N. America.
