The MV Agusta Brutale will far surpass the Ducati Monster S4 in its own game and is destined to better its own companys Raptors, but just like the Raptors the Brutale is also doomed to be successful. It is stylish, exclusive and the fact that it is a MV should be reason enough. Im sorry to say that I agree. The MV marquee is the catnip of the motorcycle industry and if they continue to produce lovelies like the Brutale then why shouldnt they be?
The full 749cc, liquid cooled, 4-stroke, in-line four MV Agusta F4S engine will power the Brutale. It will produce a 127bhp and a top speed of 270km/h should make the Brutale very appealing.
The Brutale will follow the same trait as that of the F4. The first limited edition of 300 units will be available soon as the MV Agusta Brutale Serie Oro (Gold Series). The much more affordable Silver Series will feature aluminium parts in place of the Gold Series magnesium and should be available later this year.
The Carbon Fibre bodywork is shapely and the curvy headlight finishes the Brutale off to perfection. This weight saving touches brings the weight of the Brutale to a total of 180kgs.
The MV Agusta Brutale might not look as vicious as everybody had expected, but the classic Italian lines has a strange air of aggressiveness about it. Brit., Adrian Morton (the same Adrian Morton of the Benelli 900 Tornado) headed the Brutales design, under care of Tamburini. The single-sided swing-arm exposes the (F4-like) magnesium five-spoke star-like rims and the absence of the bodywork exposes the magnesium trellis frame and the neatly designed F4 engine.
Soon after the Raptors were launched the MV Agusta revival began with the F4. Massimo Tamburini, of Ducati 916 fame, put everything on the table and produced a legend, but there was an opening in the market. The Monsters were getting dated and something new was needed.
The Cagiva Raptors were launched in 2000 and gave the great Ducati Monsters quite a scare. The Galuzzi styling of the Raptors were timeless and although they had a tendency to be unreliable they were doomed to be successful.
