The development of information technology is remarkably rapid, its application in the vehicle is rising. The Vehicle Management System (VMS) is developed to meet these requirements. The onboard computer automatically collects telemetry data and instantly communicates to the management server through packaged communication.

Mobile service companies are required to respond actively to demands from clients for a higher level and greater variety of services. This necessity urges them to find means for reducing services costs while improving the service quality and delivering at appointed times. To address these needs, mobile service companies have demanded the early commercialization of the VMS that monitors vehicle operation in real time and provides data to them. Such a system also conforms to a move to improve the productivity of commercial vehicles, which is one aspect of the development of the intelligent transport system (ITS). It was such circumstances that motivated 3Logix Pty Ltd to pursue development of the VMS that combines the ITS technologies.
