With its 16-channel architecture, it provides the best tracking and positioning accuracy in class, very fast dynamic position tracking, fast time-to-first-fix figures, and increased sensitivity. Atmel's GPS chipset, due to its high-accuracy and automotive qualification according to AECQ-100 is perfectly suited for automotive applications. It also provides maximum integration that allows the design of GPS solutions on minimum board space. Like its predecessor, the ANTARIS 4-engine features SuperSense-enabled indoor GPS reception (ideal for dashboard antennas), Assisted-GPS (A-GPS) and full support of WAAS and EGNOS satellites. Atmel?'s complete GPS functionality is available as a small single-chip BGA package, which presents a comfortable solution for applications where space is at a premium or as a 2-chip GPS solution, where a QFN package is preferable.
