1939 PACKARD TWELVE
1939 was the last year for Packard's fabled V-12 but despite having to recover from an industry-wide downturn in 1938 Packard delivered a total of 446 V-12s, all of them custom ordered. They were
the last examples of a legendary era where great, quiet, powerful multi-cylinder engines powered large chassis bearing lavish, luxurious coachwork specified by demanding clients accustomed to
getting the very best. This Series 1707 Twelve Touring Sedan with 5-passenger body style 1233 is an example of the quality and luxury which characterized the final Packard V-12s. The Touring Sedan
body has rear quarter windows for excellent visibility, dual sidemounts with metal enclosures and rear view mirrors, a trunk rack, Trippe driving lights, wide whitewall tires on wheels with chrome
hub caps and trim rings. The rear compartment has footrests and lap robe rail. The elegant automobile is finished in Dark Blue-Grey with a Red coachline. The interior has comfortable Beige cloth
upholstery and trim with handsome wood trim. It is an very nice older restoration that has been well maintained and still looks fabulous. The 175 horsepower 473 cubic inch V-12 engine effortlessly
propels this refined Packard Touring Sedan at highway speeds, making it perfect for the tours and open road events which add enjoyment to the pride of owning one of the last great multi-cylinder
