If you dread the thought of executing a parallel parking, Ford has your answer. It's called Active Park Assist, newly available on the 2010 Escape Limited. Here's how it works: While driving slowly in the parking zone, activate Park Assist and it looks for an available parking spot. Ultrasonic sensors measure the distance to the curb and between parked cars. Once a spot that's big enough is identified, you're signaled to stop and accept the system's assistance. When you give the system the green light to proceed, Park Assist controls the steering, all you do is control the braking.
The available voice-activated SYNC? communications and entertainment system* allows you to access your music collection by genre, album, artist or song title and operate your Bluetooth?-enabled phone using simple voice commands. The color-configurable interior ambient lighting inside the 2010 Escape lets you change the color of the lighting in the footwells, the front and rear center console, and the front cupholders. Choose from a palette of seven colors (purple, blue, orange, red, white, green and ice blue) to suit your mood. Ambient lighting comes standard in the high-end Escape Limited and is available on XLT with the Leather Package.
Let in more sunshine and fresh air with the available power moonroof. A sunshade and mini overhead console are included. The power moonroof on Escape XLT is available with Ford SYNC? in the Sun & SYNC? Package. And it's available in Escape Limited with the 320-watt Premium Sound System in the Moon & Tune Package.
The voice-activated Navigation System with integrated SIRIUS Travel Link* gives you everything from turn-by-turn voice guidance to real-time traffic information, current and forecasted national weather information, fuel prices, sports scores and schedules, and movie listings. On top of all that it has a 10GB hard drive so you can store up to 2,400 songs. Browse your music with your fingertips or use voice activation to play back a track.

The 2010 Escape features an available lockable wet trunk bin positioned underneath the rear cargo area. The wet trunk works to protect the vehicle's carpeting from wet or dirty items such as hiking boots. Available with the optional Cargo Package, the wet trunk is a handy place for your postadventure gear
