IAG has recently developed a new design to armoring the Toyota Hilux using single piece ballistic plates.  The advantage of this new design is that it minimizes the number of ballistic plates welded together therefore there are less welding seams around the vehicle, making it a lot stronger.  This new design also acts as a cage in a roll over scenario.
