Defibrase is a proteolytic enzyme, which reduces the concentration of fibrinogen, and blood viscosity, and inhibits platelet aggregation. Thus it can inhibit thrombosis and dissolve thrombus. Linzyme Defibrase is extracted from Agkistrodon acutus venin, and has been further purified by affinity chromatographic method to remove trace contaminating proteases, and exhibits a single band on SDS-PAGE.
