Currently following routines are distributed on individual order:
For cytology tasks:
Nuclear Cytoplasmic Ratio (NCR). Sequential detecting a cell and its nucleus on images of stained smears, measuring and calculating
ratio between nucleus and cytoplasm fractions.
DNA Ploidy Analysis. Evaluating DNA content in nuclei of normal and tumor cells according to integral optical density value.
For laboratory haematology tasks:
Poikilocytosis Evaluation. Quantitative analysis of red blood cells morphology. Automatic classifying erythrocytes into 8 classes by form parameters. Calculating red blood
cells number in each class and percentage of every class relatively to all analyzed erythrocytes. The routine allows revealing diagnostically significant aberrations of erythrocytes shape
(microspherocytosis, sickle-cell anaemia and others).
Reticulocytes Count. Counting absolute number of reticulocytes in peripheral blood and reticulocytes of different maturity degree percentage.
For microbiology tasks:
Colony Count. The routine is used for researching bacteria colonies in Petri dishes. By means of this routine colonies of
different types number is manually counted and colonies percentage is automatically calculated.
Cells viability assay by dye exclusion technique. Automated counting live and dead cells percentage in cultivated low-fermentation yeast (Saccharomyces carlsbergensis) and
in young beer.
For tasks in researching dynamic processes of live systems:
Frequency measurements. Measuring objects optical parameters changing frequency on video images. Measuring optical density parameters inside specified area of interest on
each frame of video clip being analyzed. Automatic calculating frequency of optical parameters changes within the range from 1 Hz to half a frame frequency of clip.
Archiving. Acquiring images and saving them along with drawn graphics elements and text comments in database or within a single document;
Focus Enhancement. Forming a single image obtained from a series of images captured from one field of view with different focus depth. The routine is for analyzing
specimens having uneven surface, relief or great thickness;
Enhancement. Modifying image via a set of filters allowing improving image visual perception or preparing it for further automatic measurements;
Stitch. Obtaining high resolution panoramic images of objects having large extension in case there is no magnification allowing the object to be within one field of view
with required resolution;
Manual Measurements. Drawing measurements lines and contours on the image with further statistical processing of obtained results. It is used when objects cannot be detected
automatically;
Distribution by Parameter. Automatic detecting objects of one type according to their brightness or color, measuring their size, form, optical and topological parameters,
constructing distribution bar chart and calculating statistical parameters of the sample;
Stereology. Automatic detecting phases differing in brightness or color, measuring them and calculating stereological parameters of the structure;
Percent Number. Counting number of objects of different classes and calculating percentage between them;
Optical density with background fields input. Measuring optical parameters of detected objects. Optical density is calculated relative to images of camera dark fields and
clear preparation slide;
Optical density with standards input. Measuring optical parameters of detected objects. Before starting measuring, the system is calibrated using a series of standards with
known optical density;
Optical density with manual background specifying. Measuring optical parameters of objects on the image. Background, relatively to which optical density is calculated, is
specified manually;
Time Variation. Analyzing objects parameters variation over time. Video clips in AVI format are processed in this routine.
Preset routines:
The basis of the software is routines customizable sequences of image processing operations, performed in fully automatic mode or with minimal operator interference. VideoTesT Morphology software includes preset routines, which allow solving standard tasks on materials structure analysis. User can easily modify these routines or create new routine for solving his special tasks. To create new routine user need not special knowledge in programming, it is enough just to perform required operations in manual mode and program records this chain as a routine.
