Features
The network diagram can be previewed and printed over one or several pages, making it easy to communicate projects using network diagrams, if required.
Task nodes can be moved with the mouse and formatted to display specific information (i.e. start/end dates, % completion, etc). Nodes can be grouped based on any codes within the project.
Functionality
Once installed, Asta Powernet is accessible via the Asta Powerproject toolbar. New tasks and links can be added to the network diagram. These changes are reflected within Asta Powerproject at the
click of a button.
In many cases contractual documents will refer to a network diagram and, while a linked bar chart meets the requirement of logic presentation, a network diagram produced by Asta Powernet can help.
Why use network diagrams?
Prior to the advent of project management computing, many planners used network diagrams to manually present and time projects and work out the critical path. Today, some project managers and
planners still find that a network diagram helps them understand the relationships between tasks in addition to the standard linked bar chart view. With its well laid-out, visual representation of
tasks as nodes and link-related information, Asta Powernet provides an alternative way of working with projects that some managers find useful.
It creates a precedence network diagram of all tasks in a view and provides an alternative presentation of the dependencies between tasks.
