NovaView users browse data sources through the new wizard, make a connection and build their interactive reports. Once NovaView connects to a relational data source, users can model the data, customizing elements including structures, formats and pre-filtering. Users still experience the same interface and rich interactivity that they expect from NovaView, but can access an expanded scope of enterprise data.

How it works
NovaView Relational Data Connector leverages Panoramas unique and patent pending technology already deployed in its Google Software as a Service solution. It maps to any relational data source including RDBMS, Excel, CSV and existing SQL Reporting Services among others, and uses unique algorithms to model the data instantly. The NovaView Server creates and manages in-memory or files-based models automatically, which users can control and modify to define refresh times and other fine-tuning options. Data sources can be as simple as a spreadsheet or as complex as SAP ERP tables.

In response to this need, Panorama has added functionality to NovaView 6 that enables users, for the first time, to connect to non-OLAP or relational data. The NovaView Relational Data Connector goes beyond traditional relational reporting solutions by enabling the same rich interactivity and self-service functionality users rely on from Panorama NovaView. Its relational reporting with OLAP functionality.

Analyzing data outside the cube
Panorama NovaView enables users to explore OLAP-based data in powerful ways. Organizations embrace the interactive functionality inherent in NovaView because they can achieve better business insights. While users value the interactivity and insights, they also feel limited by the fact that they can only model and analyze data within OLAP cubes.
