When complemented with Arkeias Central Management Server, remote administrators are provided with a consolidated view of their distributed backup infrastructure, including deployments of the physical appliance, virtual appliance, and software application.

Central Management

With Arkeia Disaster Recovery, administrators can perform both hot and cold backups of their Linux and Windows servers.  Unlike file backup, bare-metal restore through Disaster Recovery quickly recovers entire systems.

Arkeia Backup Replication replicates backup data to one or more locations, ensuring backup data is protected and readily accessible.  These locations may include instances of the Arkeia Physical, Virtual Appliance, or Software Application.  Arkeia Backup Replication increases flexibility for distributed infrastructures and provides a cost-effective disaster recovery solution.

External Interface:

Four models are available with capacities ranging from 1TB to 10TB, which can be specified at the time of order and expanded in the field as needed.   The APA also comes with an optional internal DAT or LTO tape drive.  External connectivity interfaces, including eSATA, SAS, SCSI, and Fibre Channel, allow for field-deployment of additional tape libraries, autoloaders and/or VTLs. 

Arkeia development engineers have tuned the combination of hardware and software to deliver maximum performance and reliability.  The backup optimized OS runs only the necessary services, which ensures both a high level of security and performance.

The Arkeia Physical Appliance removes the complexity of purchasing, configuring and managing a backup server, tape drive and all of the related management software.

The Arkeia Physical Appliance (APA), formerly Arkeia's Edgefort appliance, provides simple, reliable and affordable data protection for remote offices and small / mid-sized businesses.  The APA is a complete enterprise backup solution that delivers Arkeia Network Backup software, integrated VTL for disk backup, and an optional tape drive. The appliance is ideal for offices without full-time IT resources, or for those that simply wish to simplify deployment and management. 

Appliance comes firewalled with only the necessary ports opened and services running. Performance tuned and optimized OS and application integration ensure fast backups and recoveries.
