The users have the option of entering the details for the equipment as well as capturing the details of equipment manufacturers.
The Equipment Classification code is used to uniquely identify the position of each equipment in the plant. Having a logical codification structure it incorporates the maintenance of the equipment catalogues comprising of the facility (shop), group, equipment, assembly, subassembly and part. This method of classification enables the system to provide equipment information in the form of a "tree" hierarchy thus enabling the user to pinpoint the desired piece of equipment with the utmost precision. Thus, this module is used to classify the equipment classification tree.

Codes tables improve centralization and communication of standard system code values. This module is a repository of all the codes that are used in the IPMS system. Any addition, modification, or
deletion to the codes is done through this module.
The formulating and freezing of the codification structure is an important milestone in the design of any application, more so in a vast and complex one like the IPMS system. A single table that contains many smaller sub-tables surrounded by many common functionality components is what makes up the Codes Table concept. Each sub-table within the Codes Table provides a method of defining a set of basic elements within the system. The description field may contain either a text description of the code value or a translation value.
