The portal aims to profile local companies and their "Made-by-Singapore" products or solutions under a unified "Infocomm Singapore" brand, and seeks to serve the interests of both the business and games developer communities in Singapore. The Games Resource Portal will function as a talent locator for companies to seek out various individuals specialising in game development. It serves as a platform for individuals to showcase their portfolio. This portal will also function as a platform for businesses to find partnership opportunities.

The Games Resource Portal is a collaborative initiative between IDA and Singapore's games associations, institutions and individuals to promote Singapore as one of Asia's preferred digital games hub.
