B. Braun?s IMS software suite instacount Plus? is built to reside on a hospital?s computer server and interface with a network of computers. By using this software, CSSD staff can monitor the movement, check the sterile status and the availability of surgical instruments. An image of every instrument that passes through the CSSD is also displayed on a computer screen so that CSSD staff can identify instruments easily for assembly and packaging. The IMS also provides the hospitals with data in the form of customized reports that can be used for the management?s budgeting and forecasts for equipment purchases and maintenance.
