Working in conjunction with the features of Neptune for Playout Ingest and Browsing, Anchor Media Management provides customers with the ability to build work flows that require video server, near line disk array and archive storage. Content is tracked and managed throughout the system.Using intelligent Media Movers, Anchor can automatically deliver content across the system - prioritising transfers of media against on-air delivery schedules. Its powerful searching tools can run complex queries for finding media quickly and easily across the entire system. Regularly used queries can be saved and recalled by multiple operators.Anchor is proven in real environments controlling single data tape drives and libraries of 1500TB capacity.Anchor Media Managers ability to directly control data tape library systems offers the advantage of working with a single, centralised database - avoiding the need to synchronise different databases and simplifying the overall solution to provide increased reliability and speed.Items ingested into a video server can be moved to the data tape library system or near line storage together with low resolution copies if required and all associated metadata. These items can be searched for and retrieved at a later time for playout, either by manually dragging the media or automatically by simply loading a new playlist. The Anchor Media Manager system looks for media across multiple playlists that is missing from the on-air storage devices and retrieves it automatically.Historically this level of control has always been outsourced by automation companies to third party software providers with experience in IT data management.
