Qualitone Software Solutions was established in 1991 and specialises in the development of Internet applications.

The STEPS Governance Framework is a web application developed by Qualitone Software Solutions. It is designed to be the core system for managing organisations that utilise Internet technology.

STEPS can be customised to track, manage and report on multiple item types ('Governance Items').

It is based on the following key elements that form the basis of any management project;

1. Governance Items

Governance items can be custom defined with measurable attributes, for instance;

Assets - can be defined with a type, condition, barcode, value, location, etc.
Vehicles - can be defined with attributes such as; model, registration, last service, odometer reading, value, etc.

There are no limitations on the number and type of governance items that can be created.

The system can be used to manage;
Assets, people, contracts, deliveries, vehicles, management processes, stock items, appointments, franchises, documents, risks, incidents, recommendations and actions (to mitigate risks), suppliers, .. AND almost any other item that you can think of. It is configured to meet the requirements of our customers.


2. Reporting

Attributes of each managed item can be used as criteria to build custom reports, for instance to;

o create a list of vehicles that have not been serviced for more than a year, or
o find a list or number of assets of a certain type that have been stored in a particular location.
(These are merely examples and can be applied or customised for any type of governance item)

Hierarchical reporting is one of the key features of the Steps Governance Framework.

Real-Time up- and downward reporting provides an accurate up-to-the-minute overview of the business' status. This is particularly helpful when managing a large enterprise with multiple offices and/or divisions.

Data divided under different franchises, organisational units, divisions, departments or locations in a hierarchical structure can be reported on. For instance, Head Office can get an overview of the organisation as a whole. Sub divisions can generate reports that are only applicable to them. 


3. Item Tracking and Notification
Governance items can be tracked over a period of time and their status monitored. When the status changes or milestones are reached, groups of people can be notified through Email or SMS.
