A catalyst for x86 system design innovation, the VIA VX800 integrates extensive multimedia and connectivity technologies, plus support for Microsoft? Windows Vista, Windows XP/CE and Linux, for greater flexibility and applicability to a wide spectrum of established, growing and new x86 market segments.
The VIA VX800 integrates all the cutting-edge features of a modern chipset's North and South bridges into a single chip package that saves over 42% of silicon real estate over standard twin-chip core logic implementations. This miniaturization, combined with the maximum power consumption (TDP max) of just 5 watts and extensive power management technologies, enables system builders to design ever smaller, lighter, more portable systems.
The VIA VX800 all-in-one digital media IGP chipset supports both current VIA C7, VIA C7-M and VIA Eden processors and also upcoming processors based on the VIA Isaiah Architecture, ensuring vendors can offer a broader range of performance and price points utilizing the same platform infrastructure.
