Product Description
The VNA-10 Gateway Router is a low-cost, highperformance
router/firewall based on standard
components and open-source software. With
three gigabit ethernet interfaces, one 10/100
ethernet, two USB 2.0 interfaces, and one RS-232
port, the VNA-10 provides the necessary
flexibility to solve a number of complex routing
problems - and the bandwidth and features to back
it up. The VNA (Versatile Network Appliance)
software is stored in flash memory, and upgrades
are easily accomplished using the web interface or
a USB flash drive.
If seven interfaces aren't already enough, the
VNA-10 also supports external dial modems and
serial port concentrators. Modems can be used for
dial-up networking, port services for SCADA or
legacy devices, or local VNA console sessions.
Serial port concentrators allow easy integration of
legacy computer systems into the modern network
environment, eliminating multiplexers and
allowing remote users to access the system via
VPN and the internet instead of dial modems or
leased lines - potentially a huge saving in
recurring telephone bills.
VNA Software
The VNA is based on the LEAF-uClibc Project
release 2.4, as of this writing. LEAF (Linux
Embedded Appliance Firewall) is a powerful suite
of programs allowing the user to configure highly
complex applications, and is used by a number of
commercial products. Raymar has created a GUI
to allow users to take advantage of the features
available from LEAF, without the need to become
Linux experts or try to figure out what kind of
hardware works with what. The main difference
between the VNA and other commercial
implementations is that we haven't trimmed back
