BIANCA/BRICK-XL2 is shipped since August 1998 and directly takes place of BIANCA/BRICK-XL
The software security concept SAFERNET !" is a standard feature in BinTec?s line of access routers and gets further support through the hardware in the BIANCA/BRICK-XL2.
BinTec routers excel in the availability of the Remote-CAPI standard. Remote-CAPI is the technology that makes it possible to realize comprehensive communication server solutions in homogenous as well as heterogenous network architectures. BIANCA/BRICK-XL2 supports connections to all common modem and fax devices up to 56kbit/s with V.90 modem technology in addition to digital ISDN connections.
Another novelty in the BIANCA/BRICK-XL2 is the implementation of the DRAD!" technology. DRAD!" stands for Dynamic Resource Allocation & Distribution which means that the system is able to allocate system resources to any B-channel. This is important for the use of modem or data compression resources. It is no longer necessary to allocate these resources exclusively (and parallel) to each B-channel. Instead, they build a resource pool that can be allocated to any B-channel as required. This is the only way for an efficient design of modem servers.
BIANCA/BRICK-XL2 uses existing proven communication modules that are also available for the BIANCA/BRICK-XM and the BIANCA/BRICK-XL. Thus, a complete range of LAN, WAN, and ISDN interfaces is available for all areas of application. The BIANCA/BRICK-XL2 has seven slots for communication modules, and can be equipped with up to 64 modem channels. BIANCA/BRICK-XL2 is able to handle up to 120 B-channels by means of PRI modules.
The BIANCA/BRICK-XL2, the new flagship of the BIANCA/BRICK routers, complements BinTec's family of ISDN access servers. The architecture of the BIANCA/BRICK-XL2 has various new features that make it especially useful as a communication server in central corporate sites and for Internet Service Providers.
