Under this legislation customers are eligible to receive a tax credit of 30% of cost of the garage door. The tax credit is based on the total material cost, not including installation costs. Under the stimulus legislation signed by President Obama on February 17, 2009, the U.S. government is offering financial incentives (up to $1500) to homeowners doing energy saving home upgrades, including purchasing qualifying garage doors, in 2009 and 2010.
