PART I GENERAL
1.0.1 SCOPE
Furnish CLARK DOOR manually operated infitting hinged personnel door as shown
on plans. Available in cooler and freezer models. Door to be complete with all
hardware necessary for installation and operation.
1.0.2 RELATED WORK
Opening preparation, miscellaneous or structural metal work, access panels, finish or
field painting, electrical wiring, wire, conduit, fuses and disconnect switches are in the
scope of work of other divisions or trades.
PART II PRODUCT
2.0.1 MATERIALS
DOOR PANEL
Door panel is constructed with 22 GA G-90 galvanized steel, white painted with
non-directional stucco embossed pattern. Finish paint to be IMPERIAL WHITE
modified polyester with a dry film thickness of 1.0 mil inclusive of primer coat. Meets
USDA - MID and Canadian Food Inspection Agency requirements.
DOOR FRAME
Face frame and inside jamb to be IMPERIAL WHITE extruded High density
Polyethylene. Meets USDA - MID and Canadian Food Inspection Agency
requirements.
INSULATION
Door panels are insulated with NON-CFC Polyurethane (R value 7.8 per inch).
Available in 3, 4 & 6.
HARDWARE
Door to be complete with all hardware necessary for operation. Self closing door latch
with brushed chrome finish, with inside (mushroom button style) push release. Self
rising hinges with brushed chrome finish, as needed, for doors up to 3-0. Doors over
3-0 fitted with strap style hinges, as required, zinc plate finish.
GASKET
Gaskets at sides and top to be closed sponge cell gasket material. Floor gasket
material to be, grease resistant, nylon reinforced neoprene rubber.
FREEZER DOORS
Freezer doors are equipped with full perimeter heater cable requiring a separate 110V
AC, single phase electric connection.
OPTIONS
DOOR: door closer, exterior drip cap (hood), kickplates, and vision panels insulated
or heated.
HARDWARE FINISH: Stainless steel and powdercoat when available (may increase
lead time).
FRAME: mirror image backframe. SILL: flush sill (standard), high sill also available.
STEEL FINISHES: 24 GA #304 2B stainless steel. Aluminum, Kynar, Plastisol, .090
smooth FRP. STEEL TYPES: (Type) smooth or stucco embossed.
2.0.2 SUBSTITUTIONS
This specification is written with CLARK DOOR INC as the basis of acceptable
performance. No substitutions will be considered unless a written request is received
in the Architects office at least 14 days prior to date for receipt of bids.
2.0.3 SUBMITTALS
In compliance with the specification requirements, submit detailed shop drawings for
each door showing in clear detail all mounting requirements and accessories.
2.0.4. QUALITY ASSURANCE
Doors shall be installed in accordance with Architects plans and specifications and
Clark Doors written instructions, drawings and recommendations. Door shall be
guaranteed against defective materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year
from date of shipment.
