Fusing function and design, this curtain lets in the breeze while it shades out the sun. Each curtain is handcrafted from hundreds of pieces of bamboo. Vietnamese artisans start by harvesting thin pieces of bamboo, which are cut to proportion. Each tube of bamboo is threaded onto wire and individually tied. The result is a single, tapering strand of bamboo that is attached to a wooden top. Because each piece of bamboo is individually tied, one piece can come off and the remainder stay in place. This process is repeated many times to create a curtain of bamboo. Each curtain is the size of a standard door - they're perfect for patio doors or interior doors. Use them as room dividers, wall hangings, or as a unique window treatment. |
