If the exhibitors list of the recently concluded, and immensely successful, trade show Zak Doors & Windows Expo in New Delhi is any indication, it is that the unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (uPVC) window industry has arrived. Ten window suppliers, each taking up no less than 200 sqm of expensive exhibition space, dominated the three-day event that thronged with eager building professionals, traders and specifiers. And the most surprising element was that of this group of ten, at least eight were names new to the industry. The message is clear that the uPVC window industry is growing, at least in terms of number of suppliers andin terms of awareness. However, the moot question is whether acceptance is growing as well.
