RESIN TRAPS screens

In many systems, a valve failure can allow media to escape form the treatment vessel. Not only is the loss of expensive media significant, but damage can easily occur to downstream pumping equipment. Johnson resin traps, placed inline, provide positive protection. With slots sized as small as 0.05 mm, and up in 0.01 mm increments, the traps can be designed to capture media particles of any size. Even with very narrow slots, the screen has sufficient open area to let process flow move virtually unimpeded. Other design accommodations can be made for specific site conditions such as piping, valve sizes, and configurations. The screens are typically made with type 316L stainless steel but other metals can be used depending on the particular chemistry or temperature of the process flow. The screens can also be designed with sight glasses for monitoring and removable elements for easier cleaning. Screens for Johnson resin traps are made by wrapping Vee-Wire?/sup> spirally around an array of rods and welding it at each intersection of wire and rod. The result is a very strong screen structure with close-tolerance, continuous slots.
