Parquet and Laminate Underlay with Ventilation Effect

PEPI RER have got an exclusive license agreement with the Finnish inventor of this system so we are the only producer of ProVent. We started to manufacture ProVent in summer 2007.
Besides that ProVent features a better impact sound insulation compared with the regular foam underlay (20 dB against 19 dB or less).
In addition to the above ProVent is a reliable vapour barrier that protects the flooring material. ProVent features a completely new approach to the protection of parquet or laminate that does not require 0.2mm LDPE or other additional vapour barrier. The protection has got 2 levels: the 1st level is the Micropumping system that extracts water vapour from the underfloor and the 2nd level is ProVent itself that would not allow water vapour to reach the flooring material. Anyway we consider that the 2nd level is needed mainly for additional safety because the 1st level is enough to keep the water vapour concentration in the underfloor area at a very low level.
As the main advantage ProVent features a proved ventilation of the underfloor area. ProVent is to be installed on the (concrete) floor base with the air-channel side down and the HDPE side up. The air exchange takes place due to the system of air channels and the flexibility of foam that allows foam to shrink and expand when people walk on the floor. We call this system Micropumping.
ProVent is a corrugated (wavy) polyethylene foam sheet that is laminated to a 20 micron HDPE film for additional vapour protection .
ProVent is manufactured by PEPI RER SIA, a manufacturer of flooring underlays for parquet and laminate, located in Northern Latvia.
ProVent flooring underlay is designed to prevent the formation of mold under parquet and laminated floors.
