Traditionally, glass was coupled with a concrete grid. This system is inadequate due to the nature of thermal expansion and contraction and typically causes the glass to crack and the grid to distort. The IBP aluminum grid uses a neoprene boot which encases the side and edges of the glass paver to allow safe expansion and contraction . The results are a more aesthetically pleasing floor that offers more of a glass surface. The system is also lighter (an average of about 1200 pounds compared to concrete systems) and more easily assembled. IBP Glass systems are also more durable and carry a 5 year warranty compared to an average 1 year warranty for competitors' systems.
