Founder Willie Drake began sourcing timbers from old textile mills in Virginia and the southeastern United States in 1974. The company now recovers antique wood timbers from a variety of sources, including abandoned industrial mills, antique barns, submerged forests, 19th-century breweries and ancient Chinese structures, and refinishes them into custom flooring and millwork.
