Antique Heart Pine Flooring

Although we can and do also produce remanufactured floors our Signature Flooring will always retain the characteristics described above:  three old original naturally contoured surfaces; long lengths of six feet to twelve feet or longer and wide widths of six to twelve inches or wider.

An AVW Antique Heart Pine floor will maintain the old original wide plank flooring look that is so prized in original antique wide board flooring. Our wide plank flooring will retain the authentic and original checking and cracking that a 150 year old Antique Heart Pine floor must have to look really old and beautiful.

Thirdly, an original prized Antique Heart Pine floor would be made from wide boards of random width six inches to twelve inches wide and frequently even wider. Most remanufactured Heart Pine flooring will be three inches to six inches wide and you will be told that this is a trouble free floor because the floors do not have shrinkage problems.

We hand work the knots and defects to enhance their original beauty. Although our floors may be more difficult to ship and perhaps take longer to install properly, we feel that the authentic look of our 150 year old Antique Heart Pine flooring is worth it.

AVWs Antique Heart Pine floors will be six feet to sixteen feet or longer and maintain all of the original charm of 150 year old Heart Pine flooring.

Secondly, original old Heart Pine floors were always made from long length boards of eight feet to sixteen foot lengths and sometimes up to twenty feet long. Remanufactured Heart Pine flooring goes through a defecting process to take out knots and discolored or damaged wood to give that new look . This produces floors that have lengths of one foot to eight foot. This floor, it has been maintained, is trouble free and easy to ship.

If  Antique Heart  Pine flooring is re-manufactured, machines are used which give sharp clean new edges and perfectly flat top surfaces, with all the patina removed. AVW Heart Pine flooring is made by hand to preserve that 150 year old look.

Antique Heart Pine flooring is noted for its unusual hardness (nearly as hard as oak flooring) and its beautiful color of amber orange to a mellow reddish color. Re-manufactured Antique Heart Pine flooring has an almost new look. After 150 years of wear, these surfaces have a natural contoured look that cannot be produced by a machine and we strive to maintain the 150 year old original patina of Antique Heart Pine flooring on all three exposed surfaces.
