This stone is made of glassy lime carbonate and generally isseen in crystal layers with yellow, brown and green shadows. The existence ofrich sources of this stone is seen in Iran with variety of colours ingreen, yellow, gray, honey and white.

Limestone is a calcareous sedimentary rock, formed at thebottom of lakes and seas with the accumulation of shells, bones and othercalcium rich goods. It is composed of calcite (CaCO3).
The rock which contains more than 95% of calcium carbonate is known ashigh-calcium limestone. Re-crystallised limestone takes good polish and isusually used as decorative and building stone.
Limestone that will take a polish, is considered as marbles by most people, buttechnically, if there are still shells visible or the structure is notcrystalline, it is still a limestone
