This stone is great for Indian figures and is used for sculptures of natives of North America, South Seas, Hawaiian, or other original citizens of the Western Hemisphere. It is in great demand. Colors are dark to light brown, sometimes with orange and yellow spots with dark green banding like brook trout. Body features can be carved of brown with green foliage and orange or yellow fruit for a background. Try it with the brighter colors as a blanket over one shoulder, or a shawl over the head. Famous for Southwest Indian prize sculptures that sell well in the galleries. Large slabs or long/talls readily available from 8" to 10" in thickness. Some 6" thick on hand with multicolors.
