Marble is a metamorphic, crystalline rock. The characteristics of the heavy veining and range of color is a result of of the recrystalization of calcite from limestone. Both Marble and Onyx can scratch and stain. The acids in food and cleaning products can damage your finish.  The more veining the pattern and with proper care and maintenance this can be minimal, if noticed at all. With Stone Saver expertise we can help you with making the right choice and guidance for the proper care.  Marble is also aesthetically appealing and hygienic, but can stain and scratch more easily. It is not as hard as granite and therefore not as durable and does not react well with chemical cleaning agents.

Onyx colors include white, shades  of yellow, red, blue, green and brown.  All Onyx is sealed for protection after installation.  Onyx is like glass and difficult to handle, but the finished product is breathtaking.  It is used mostly in baths, and bar designs and is not recommended for a kitchen or outdoor area, such as an outdoor kitchens.  We have back lit Onyx in many applications to show its beauty.  Our experts can advise you about this wonderful product and the many uses.
