Reclaimed Antique Heart Pine

Red Mountain also stocks and sources many other species of reclaimed antique wood, including Hickory, Elm, Birch, Walnut, Beech, Poplar, Maple, and Red Oak. Sourcing unique, unusual or hard-to-find species is a challenge and an opportunity to work with our valued customers while learning more about our countries past.

Reclaimed Antique American Chestnut

At one time a dominant species in North America, Chestnut is now extinct. Highly desirable, rare and singular in appearance, Chestnut is becoming harder and harder to find. Antique Chestnut is also referred to as Wormy Chestnut. The blight that drove the species to extinction also served to create the wormy look so prized by those that appreciate the artistry found deep in the fiber of this unique wood. Combined with warm tones ranging from light brown to dark chocolate, Antique Chestnut remains one of the most sought after species of reclaimed material.

Reclaimed Antique Eastern White Pine & Pumpkin Pine

Antique White Pine is found throughout New England, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, northern Minnesota and Michigan. The material is typically salvaged from timbers, beams, decking, stringers and siding reclaimed from both industrial and agricultural buildings.

Reclaimed Antique White Oak

Antique White Oak is found in a variety of regions throughout the United States. Much of our white oak is harvested from small barns and agricultural buildings in the Ohio River Valley. We work closely with small family-run businesses who have expertise in the dismantling of these buildings. The commitment of our small businesses partners to responsible reclamation ensures not only the quality of the material, but also an assurance that responsible harvesting techniques are used.

Reclaimed Antique Heart Pine

Long before the pioneers began to roam our great country, huge stands of giant pines covered the land from Virginia to the eastern boundaries of Texas. Grand and magnificent, these giants stood for hundreds of years in the vast reaches of the American wilderness. Southern Longleaf Pine, or Heart Pine as the species is commonly known, could take up to five hundred years to mature, growing at a rate of only one inch in diameter every thirty years and reaching heights of one hundred and fifty feet or more.
