Welcome to Rance Timber, the trading name for C.J. Rance (PTY) Ltd, an independently owned Pine sawmilling and forestry company situated near Stutterheim in the Amathole area of the Eastern Cape Province, South Africa.

 

Our Structural Lumber is manufactured and graded in accordance with the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) / South African National Standards (SANS) specifications as laid out in SANS 1783:2004/5 to be used in the construction industry. Rance Timber has been a certified mark holder with the SABS, now SANS since 1969 and is audited regularly by SANS inspectors to ensure our compliance with their specifications.

 

Rance Timber SANS quality lumber is identified by red stamps showing the SANS mark and a triangle containing the letter R. The reject timber that does not comply with the grading rules is marked with a black-cross on each end and is not suitable for formal building applications.
