Uses
This wood has a lot of characteristically similarities to Mahogany, for the same reason it is possible to use it the same way, especially on the elaboration of furniture, doors, windows, frames,
decorative veneers and handicrafts. It is preferable to preserve to increase its resistance to insects attacks.
Working properties
It's a wood easy to saw and to work with handwork tools; very pour to pour for planning, moderate for molding, excellent for mortising, boring, turning and sanding and difficult to nailing . Due to
the size of its pores it tends to absorb a lot of sealer but presents excellent finishing. Because of the beauty of its color, transparent finishing is recommended to use.
Natural durability
It's a wood moderately susceptible to funguses and termites attacks.
Seasoning
This wood is moderately easy to dry on natural air as on kiln, it dries at a moderate speed and developing moderate drying defects. It is recommended to use the schedules kiln T3-D7 and T4-D2 for 1
and 2 inches boards respectively.

Characteristics
Light brown wood, semi shiny surface, medium to lightly coarse texture, straight to lightly interlocked grain, veined softly. Odorless and tasteless.
Distribution
It is reported to be spaciously distributed from Belize and the long of the north coast of Central America and on the pacific of Costa Rica. It grows in South America from Colombia to Brazil,
Ecuador and Peru. In Honduras it's found spaciously distributed in the Mosquitia forest, and in the Gracias a Dios department.
