Maju Weko fully supports the Malaysian Government's and international policies on environmental preservation and sustainable forest management. As the Company's forest concessions are within the State of Perak Darul Ridzuan, Malaysia (which has been awarded the Certificate for Forest Management by the Malaysian Timber Certification Council ["MTCS"] in 2003), its forest management and harvesting activities are in compliance with sustainable forest management practices. Since then, we are MTCS certified under FCOC OID (CHAIN OF CUSTODY) and FSC certified under COC 062 (CHAIN OF CUSTODY).
Maju Weko has successfully established strong and long term business relationships with a number of the major buyers of timber products in the United States of America, Australia, the European Union as well as local customers in Malaysia.
Maju Weko has earned a reputation as a dependable and quality of timber based products over the years. The ability to produce quality products is assisted by the fact that the Company presently has the rights to extract logs from its own forest concessions currently we are komo certified. In addition, the Company also has agreements with other forest concession holders to purchase logs extracted from their concessions. This availability of wood resources ensure that the Company has a consistent and sustainable supply of logs to meet its long term production needs for at least the next 8 to 10 years. Maju Weko has been and will continue to be a long term player in the tropical timber industry and towards this end, it is carrying out an on-going process to apply for new concessions from the authorities and to sign up long term supply agreements with other forest concessionaires to ensure that it has a continuous supply of logs.
