Available in a multitude of sizes, from small turning blocks and fingerboards and flitches up to 6" x 6" and 9 feet in length. Larger sizes can be arranged depending on buyer and quantities required.

Unique dark black chocolate colour, no dying, stains or other process involved. Timber reaches a uniform black colour at low moisture content percentages >10%

It has a beautiful grain profile, usually very straight with some small waves, sometimes a few pieces are tiger-striped.

Pacific Blackwood has seen use as marine stern-tube bearings, as a substitute for Lignum Vitae, for the better part of forty years.

1350Kg per cubic metre: Quite heavy, and similar in density to Ebony (Diospyros spp.)

Very unique properties: 19Kn Janka hardness (4200+ pounds force) Harder than 98% of other commercial hardwoods, this timber is extremely strong.
