Oriental Bamboo Decking Planks

Strand Woven Bamboo is the hardest form of Bamboo plank available. Bamboo strands are mixed into a special epoxy glue mould using a patented technique. The result is a unique grain that is extremely durable. We offer a couple of outdoor decking versions of the plank, specially designed for the rugged requirements of an outdoor product.

The harsh South African climate is very hard wearing on timber decks. Using local pine or eucalyptus results in a deck will require regular maintenance and will have a typical life-span of less that ten years.  The more commonly used Balau is increasingly  in short supply.

Oriental Bamboo outdoor decking is very hard, the hardest of timber planks used for flooring. Strand woven bamboo planks are a bamboo hardwood composite product that is very stable (resistant to warping and cupping) and has a high tensile  strength, higher than that of cold pressed steel.

The plank is specially designed with a non-slip groove.
