Mgp(machine graded pine) is mechanically graded or sorted depending upon the stiffness and strength of each board. This process is carried out by the sawmills own stress grading machine which mechanically puts a set deflection, or bend, on each board as it moves through the stress grader. The load or pressure required to meet this set deflection is measured. The unique feature of this timber is that the assigned grade, calculated from the stiffness, is printed on the face of the board. This results in the correct application of the timber to the job.Mgp 12Used for specialized engineered applications.Mgp 10- trussHas stiffness and strength properties for efficient design of trusses.Mgp 8- frameHas stiffness and strength properties suitable for structural framing.Mgp 6- non load bearingHas stiffness and strength properties suitable for use in non load bearing applications.
