Available in good long lengths and can be difficult to deal with as care must be taken to Kiln Dried properly.
This is highly suitable for using for outdoor and makes a very nice indoor flooring material. It's know to be resistant to termite and marine borer attacks.
Very nice timber, Reddish like Jarrah and not abundantly available.
The timber is hard to very hard and heavy to very heavy with a density of 915-1,250 kg/m3 air dry. This is heavier than Merbau/Kwila and it doesn't bleed like the latter.
Pelawan aka known as Northern Box or Brush Box is a very durable timber considered in the Class A category. It's reportedly difficult to saw hence pre-drilling maybe required for installation.
