LifeTime Lumber does not use any wood as all of wood composite lumber manufacturers do. Over the time wood (saw dust) absorbs moisture that can cause mold and mildew. Once it gets inside, the decks have to be treated with special chemicals. Our product does not absorb any moisture so the mold and mildew will not penetrate inside the boards. Another big difference is that some of wood composite decking manufacturers have a major issue with fading. LifeTime Lumber is fade resistant that requires very low maintenance.
