The unit has a timer which will automatically stop the flushing action after 5 minutes and it is also protected by a fuse in case of a power surge.

The Bathroom Gem Floor Toilet uses a 110 volt power supply with a GFI plug-in which can be plugged into any grounded power outlet.

The drain area is hinged and fastened with two screws to allow easy access for cleaning the stainless steel drainage bowl.

The unit is constructed from 100% heavy gauge stainless steel.

The unit can be installed with the drain on either the right or left side of the ramp.  The ramp also includes a toe kick to help keep the wheelchair aligned.

While the unit is flushing, a heavy-duty pump discharges the waste material directly into a toilet or available drain (using a 5' tube with a clip to attach to a toilet bowl), so no plumbing is required to connect to a drain.  The water supply is simply  attached to the cold water pipe of a faucet using a 3/8" T-connector (using a 2' tube).

The flushing mechanism is activated by an electronic sensor when the wheelchair is moved over the unit and ceases when the wheelchair is rolled off the unit.
