The company opened their doors for business more that four decades ago in 1964, as a traditional Hardware Store and with the Almightys grace, has since grown from strength to strength.

Each of the founding members of the group is an entrepreneur at heart, constantly keeping an eye on the horizon for opportunities that would continually grow the group in all its aspects.

Innovative thinking and ground breaking growth strategies have created a strong impression that this
company is far from settled. The latest of which includes the addition of the first loyalty programme within the building sector called the Carrim Club that will reward its clients not only when they buy at the Carrim stores but also with their normal day to day purchases. The groups humble beginnings started with the first store K.E. Bazaar, now known as Builders Mecca which was then situated in the old Marabastad Area, and remains today one of the best known distributors of building materials and related products to the man-on-the-street, building contractors and various other hardware stores of the Gauteng region.
As the market demand grew, the company branched off into another separate division namely Tile Mecca, conveniently situated right next door from Builders Mecca. The shift laid the foundation for a brand new thinking pattern within the group, with many other different divisions and supporting companies following soon there after, including Property Development, which complementing the entire building industry.

relating to the building industry, truly becoming a leader in the building and renovation market sector.
